A birth community for homebirthers etc.

Hi!  I'm in a terribly bad mood but feel like lurking is rude, so I'll post a quick intro and can answer any questions later.

I'm 38 years old, married for 10 years next month, have three children (8.5G, 6B and 2B) and am pregnant for the 15th time with what I am hoping will be baby #4.  I've had three homebirths, two with CNM and one semi UC with only a doula present.  You can read #1 and 2's birth stories in my memories and I'm hoping to write up #3 and maybe upload some videos to youtube before #4 appears.  My official EDD is 1/10 (making me 11w on Thursday) but I'm expecting to go to or later than 43 weeks, so when I tell most people about the pregnancy, I'll say 2/1.

What else... we're a generally crunchy mostly APish family.  We EC with cloth (and a little disposable) backing up, we exclusively breastfeed with delayed solids, we are currenly homeschooling, we mostly don't vaccinate, we bust our a**es to not use punitive discipline (though today was a flop, hoping tomorrow is better!).  I live in NYC, dh and the kids are vegetarian (though I'm currently not, boohoo!!!) and am one of those Jewish liberals philosophically ;)  I love to cook and eat and have a pretty good grasp of nutrition, but am fat anyway.  Yes, I'm a plus size mommy and I'm not ashamed or expecting it to cause any problems.  I have four bad discs in my lower back and struggle with various MI issues.  Hmmm... most of my lj is unlocked and you're welcome to look.  I also have journeytofour (my pregnancy journal), ecjourney (my ec journal), and a few mostly inactive accounts and communities.

I've got extra fluff too so don't feel alone. ;) I'm border-line plus size, but health is more important and I'm definitely healthy! I hate that people see someone plus-sized and automatically think “unhealthy” when it isn't always the case! I can run a lot further than a lot of skinny-minnies! lol
